Who is DRA? 

 

DRA stands for Del Richardson & Associates, Incorporated. We are a small business located in Inglewood, California. DRA is a public affairs, housing and Right-of-Way (ROW) company contracted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs to house veterans and outreach to landlords. Our We ROW approach is simple: People First, Compliance Second. We connect the dots between landlords and tenants. 

 

Purpose

 

To house veterans and create awareness on the issue of homeless veterans. Right now there are about 4,362 homeless veterans in the Los Angeles County. Our soldiers served to protect our nation, but they came back to many issues, one of them being homelessness. With landlords renting out to homeless veterans, we can improve this tragedy.

What is VASH?

 

HUD-VASH is an ongoing effort, between Veterans Affairs and the Department of Housing and Urban Department, to house veterans using Housing Choice Vouchers throughout the United States. Ours is limited to the Los Angeles County.  The program focuses on veteran’s supportive housing with the HUD-VASH housing subsidize. This targets the most vulnerable veterans (disabilities, extended period of homelessness, etc.). They have been approved for Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) and a team aiding them in finding housing and stabilizing their way again. 

 

 

How does the Rent Work

 

• Upon the first of each month, the VASH program will make a direct deposit will to the landlords account. The tenant is responsible for a small portion of the rent amount. 

• Utility responsibility is determined on an individual basis. 

• Minimum 12 months lease term.

 

 

Case Management Service

 

• Case manager will visit the tenant on a monthly regular. 

• Case Management uses the team based approach. This team includes various support member like nurses, substance use disorder specialist, vocational rehabilitation specialist, psychologist, peer support. 

• Landlords participating will be contacted by the case manager for feedback. Case manager will have regular meetings with the landlord as part of the housing stabilization transition.
